The Early Childhood Initiative people are going to be here at 11 to screen Charlie for developmental delays. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers.
UPDATE:
Basically, she saw red flags that things are going on with Charlie that would necessitate services, but he is only six weeks from his birthday and their services end at age three. She gave me some ideas of what to do and names of people to get referrals to from our pedi as well as who to get a hold of in the school district. She was very kind and helpful and I have a doctor's appointment for Charlie for Friday.

Just said one....won't stop til you let me know!!
We are definitely saying a prayer! Love ya!
Thinking of yall. Love -
So they won't help him after he's three??
EI has to stop at 3 but if Charlie needs services he can still get them elsewhere. I am a pediatric SLP and will be happy to help in any way I can. Contact your pedi and find out where else he could go.
Saying a prayer and he will be fine. Sometimes they just need a little help/push.
it's how the system is designed. ECI services kids from birth to three, school districts service them after three. It makes no sense to go through all the testing and diagnostics to service him one or two weeks before he has his birthday and we have to start all over with testing and diagnostics with the school district. So we'll get some tests run by a neurologist and a few therapies from private speech pathologists and occupational therapists while we wait for his birthday and for the school district care to kick in.
They were amazingly helpful.
We're running that gauntlet, too. Email me if you need recommendations or want to vent or bounce ideas. We've been to the neuro, are doing private OT and SLP and have done the school district (Hutto ISD) eval. snelsonc6896@gmail.com
