Dixie is hysterical with sorrow

I just told her The Truth. She is inconsolable with her grief and mourning. I didn't mean to break it to her, but she had to know, at some point, that all the dinosaurs died a very long time ago and that she will never, ever see one in a zoo.

:( You will just have to buy the Land before time movies, and tell her those are the BEST kind of dinos anyway.

You scared me for a second. I thought you were going to say you told her about Santa...You know, the truth. Sheesh!

Well, alligators and crocodiles haven't changed much in 150 million years or so.

I thought it was something about "the birth" family.

Are you home yet?

Oh, poor girl! You know, you could tell her about how birds are relatives of dinosaurs, and look on the internet for some of those fish and reptiles they have in the Amazon and stuff that are supposed to have remained the same for millions of years. And you could get her excited about digging up dinosaur bones. I came across this: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/scienceandtechnology/3797443/Two-new-dinosaurs-found-in-ancient-Saharan-river-system.html
recently and maybe it will interest her.

When she is past the grief stricken stage, could you have her give Eva a call? Either Dixie will convince her that the dinosaurs are all gone, or Eva will convince Dixie that the dinosaurs are alive and well in Momma's house and Momma's car. (No matter how many times we throw those darn dinosaurs in the trash, they still manage to find their way back out!
