So much for manners

We've really been working on having good table manners. Sitting in a chair the entire time, eating with utensils, using napkins, not burping or farting, no toys, no rude comments about the food, etc.

Dowlan is having a terrible time of it. ;)

So last night is going really well, despite the menu featuring spaghetti. The girls are actually eating, not running in circles around the house between bites, and we did get the entire prayer respectfully said before the eating commenced.

Melody asks, "May I please be excutes to the potty?"

Excutes, excused, whatever.

Dowlan and I are commenting to each other how nice it is to actually have a decent, calm meal about the time that Melody shouts from the bathroom, "Sometimes it is really hard to poop! And then when you do it splashes up and gets your bottom wet!"

Sigh.

That is too cute...when it happens at someone else's house. :) I swear my daughter waits until I am eating to need my "help" in the potty.

I remember listening to Big Sprout grunt and count her poops once upon a time. There I was cooking supper and I can hear "uuuuungh, one. Uuuuaaahh, two, three. MMMMMMhuh, four" coming out of the bathroom. I do believe I burned supper that night due to laughing so hard. :)

That is hillarious! Sounds exactly like something my 4 year old would say. We were working on table manners too, but the 15 month old likes to throw his food across the room so I've given up for now.

Comic Gold.

Gretchen, you are doing a terrific job with this Mommy thing. Melody is a lot like her mom - a huge heart (as we talked about the other day) with a great sense of comic timing.

Keep the hits coming..... :-)
